Octandre//Insights projects focus on the educational aspects of contemporary music. We are often asked to provide ensembles for composer workshops at universities and schools. Other events have included pre-concert interviews and talks, panel discussions, and lectures with live music, as well as invited blogs and videos.

 

Insights events usually involve one of a network of trios taken from the main ensemble, and often they are attached to an Octandre//Roots performance. Between them, Octandre trios have facilitated workshops at the Universities of Bristol, Hull, Kent and York, as well as at Eton School and Westminster School.

 

Larger-scale Insights projects have included composer-development projects, run in partnership with other organisations such as LSO Soundhub and new:dots. In these projects, composers were invited to write for the ensemble and to connect directly with the audience, in interviews, discussions and open workshops.
